Teatro Colon
I had the distinct pleasure of visiting Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires. I saw Richard Strauss' Elektra and it was absolutely amazing, one of the best experiences of my life. The cast was amazing, especially the mezzo who played Elektra. Her voice was spectacular! I especially enjoyed the ease of her high notes; they gave me chills every time. I went to the opera alone and on a whim. I woke up, looked for things to do online and found out that this was the closing night. Strauss is one of my favorite composers so I had to go. I bought a cheap ticket online (only $140 pesos!), got dressed up and went. I'm so glad that I did because as an artist, as a singer, it was amazing to see how receptive the audience was to this opera. I think that they applauded for 20 minutes after the concert was over. It was great!
