A Bygone Era

I wander in the city during my lunch hour and noticed this, an old building having some work done and the soffit boards removed to reveal signage of a bygone era. I am sure most of the people of my generation will remember F. W. Woolworth, sweets, toys, music... Like so many marques now a memory on the high street.

I am sure this will be covered up again soon but it was lovely to see this little bit of retail history and to let my minds eye picture it as it must have been generations ago.
