Over easy

Sometimes a simple meal is the best, but you can't make an omelette without breaking eggs.

These words of wisdom mean what exactly? I prefer don't cry over spilled milk. That makes sense to me. We can't change the past and even bringing back to mind unpleasant memories serves no purpose - you're only reliving the unpleasantness.

Today has been a day that took us out to buy some used wine making equipment. Our local online classifieds is addictive in that there's always a bargain to be found. The bonus is that you get to meet interesting people who are buying or selling things. This time we met a lady who was born on Salt Spring and is still in her family's home.

The rain this afternoon gave me the perfect opportunity to start off my first batch of wine. I have never made any before but both my mother and my in-laws made wine back in the day. How hard can it be?
