1st birthday drink!!

So wee S is one today.

Hard to believe in some ways, my memories of this time last year are still very vivid. But here we are a year later and very lucky I have to say to have had a relatively drama free if at times very tiring time. Our wee man has developed a very sunny personality, has a wonderful smile, a cracking laugh and its been on the whole a real pleasure to look after him.

So to celebrate, both 77 and I had the day off work and we had a leisurely morning of present opening (including this very nice engraved tankard from his grandparents, which will be kept out the way until he can enjoy a real drink in it!) and then after a sleep off to Yo Sushi for lunch. Then in the afternoon we went on our first of many family trips to Edinburgh Zoo. Baby S seemed fairly non plussed with the pandas but was fascinated by the chimpanzees so I can see us spending a lot if time going back to look at these in the future.

The day was finished off with homemade egg free birthday cake iced and decorated by myself which he seemed to enjoy although the sugar rush made sleeping a bit of an issue. Luckily he got there in the end. So we are now sitting with a well earned drink and time to reflect on whats been a great first year of family life its been.
