Vulcan's Fire

My red rhododendron is beginning to open. Called Vulcan's fire, it is a very deep intense red and I spent a lot of time this morning trying to capture that vibrant colour.

This version is the closest I could get and I can see it still has some pinkish tones. I had to pick a flower and bring indoors as the stronger outdoor light - even though early morning - didn't allow the beautiful red to show at its best.
