Soggy Nuthatch
It's been a soggy old day today so we took the train to Leeds and stocked up on reading material, everything from the latest Vera Stanhope thriller to the Booker prize winner (that's a thickie!)
This afternoon Tony has been working on maps and I've been at the other end of the living room reading personal statements for UCAS. This has been a frustrating task. The easiest ones to review are those where students have lots to say about themselves which is relevant to their chosen course but every year I read those where students haven't listened to earlier advice (how do you get them to do that?!) and have little to say.
So it's a bird blip today and the elder tree was full of soggy subjects. This nuthatch is usually a blur as he zips about the tree but he had his eye on the goldfinches on the sunflower seeds and had to wait for an opening, so I took the chance to blip him more clearly.
