Stairway to heaven ...

St Philip's Church Joppa has the steeple jacks in attendance this week. The wafer thin ladder can just be seen to the left of the steeple while these ropes run from the very top of the spire to the church sign on the roadside.

This would be a terrifying zip wire ride! A climb up that ladder would be equally terrifying for those without a head for heights!

Today we had a super morning catch up with Lady Findhorn and HL where the delicious home baking was upstaged by the wonderful poetic masterpiece written and recited by HL. We were also regaled with exciting plans for imminent travellers' tales to come! Thank you both for your hospitality.

We are thinking of my Edinburgh aunt and her daughter who has undertaken major surgery this afternoon.

Later I learnt that our car was to be written off following Monday's accident and therefore there is no obligation for the insurers to provide a courtesy car!

On the way home this afternoon I visited the new Apple Store and my faulty iPad's home button was also written off and, because it was still under warranty, it was replaced, restored and rebooted while we waited.

There is no such speedy process for replacing cars! Luckily the buses in Edinburgh are amazing - who needs a car?!
