Poppy Red
I decided to visit the National Museum of Scotland this afternoon to get something different for today's Blip, as per usual I took the lift up to the top floor as soon as I got there to go to the roof terrace, only to find that I couldn't get there as a large section of the museum is closed for refurbishment so I ended up walking down the stairs back to the ground floor so I could get into the other section and then had to take the other stairs back up again (the roof terrace lift was also out of order). I eventually reached the roof terrace and got a few good pictures of Edinburgh castle and roof tops. I then spent the next couple hours wandering around taking more pictures, even with several sections closed there is still heaps to see. I'm so excited to see the new galleries with thousands of new items, unfortunately they won't be open until 2016 :-(
After the museum I nipped along the road to Greyfriars Bobby for a pint (or two) and decided to wait until it was dark, I'd heard the Scott Monument was to be lit up in "Poppy Red" for the next few days so I headed to Princes Street via The Mound. I took quite a few pictures from different angles starting at the top of the mound and down to Princes Street. I think this was one of the better ones.
