Sunset Beach

This isn't actually called sunset beach--it is Oceanside Beach, south of the pier. A late afternoon walk lasted until just about sunset. My husband and I were getting some exercise on a beautiful autumn day, after a failed afternoon of sailing. A stalled out motor and wind that all but disappeared while we were on the ocean did not make for a good combination. Once we were back at the slip, we thought it best to head to our favorite watering hole for appetizers and drinks. I had a feeling that today I would capture a green flash at sunset, and I actually did. The problem (an operator problem, for sure) was that my shot was quite out of focus. It is posted on my blip folio under SoCal shots, along with a couple of other photos from the day.
Today I had to report to the Superior Court for Jury Duty. Fortunately, no jurors were needed for cases, so we were all released prior to lunch. That's how I ended up with a free afternoon to spend at the coast. For me, it was a perfect fit for the October Word Challenge: Leisure.
