Bournemouth Pier, battered by the waves

This morning brought heavy and at times torrential rain. The pier is caught here during a brief period of sunshine, subjected to a heavy swell. On the lee (i. e. opposite) side of the pier a dozen or more surfboarders are enjoying the challenge.
