Day of Badminton

There was indeed lots of badminton today. The badminton club of our own little town held a tournament for kids where I helped out in match control. Then the qualifying for the European team championships were held in Reykjavík and it was broadcasted live on TV. Unfortunately Iceland did not do so well, lost 1-4.
In our own little tournament some were more enthusiastic than others and the kids to the left in the photo played boys' doubles in a age group above them. Yes, one of them is a girl and she was nearly the strongest player on court. I thought that was marvellous. In the future we might stop classifying by gender...
