Remembrance
I was in bed very late, or very early depending on your viewpoint. The plan was to go shopping and then to ANESFHS meeting but somehow after a chat with mum, doing the washing and fiddling atoms with a view other things I ran out of time, for the shopping bit that is.
The meeting was good, apart from the powerpoints being read out. Meet up with a couple of folk I hadn't seen for ages, in fact one I hadn't seen since my GRC days. She used to run STEP, the Travellers Education Programme at Moray House. It took us a while to work out how we knew one another and of course she worked with K from the Foyer who I saw on Thursday. Small world, or Aberdeen mafia!
By the time I came out of The Royal Scots Club it was pouring. I did do a wee bit shopping, for me and the babe.
I walked through the Remembrance Garden. The buildings are lit red. I have mixed views about this remembering the dead. WW1 was about empire and colonies and trade. It was a needless war. But aren't all wars needless? Does anyone put poppies on the memorials to earlier wars on N Bridge and The Mound? Didn't those men die for much the same reasons?
Home to try and find missing relatives, James Forbes Law for one. And having finished the cats I've started a second Santa Claus.
Edit: Just realised I blipped Jenner's exactly 3 years ago, it was purpley/pink then.
