It never rains but it pours

We took Tommy to hospital this morning with severe abdominal pains. The doctors pushed and prodded then put in a line for morphine and the surgeon was called to have a look. By the time the surgeon came Tommy felt a bit better and a couple of hours later he was ok and discharged. We may never know what that was about but if he hadn't recovered as suddenly as he'd become ill he would, by now, have no appendix.
