Rescued

My friend rescues squirrels. This is the little girl of the pair... Unfortunately her brother didn't make it. Many don't.

She feeds them and then keeps them until they start wanting to make their own nest. She described the process like this....

"Well, I have some boxes in the trees, but the they are down lower... And when they leave my porch, they go and make nests in the low boxes, but they really want to be higher so eventually they will leave the boxes and make their own nests higher in the trees. I leave food out for them but eventually they live entirely on their own."

She also rescues opossums. They are also very cute babies.
