One can not entertain the idea of not entertaining ones self in Singapore without a Singapore Sling at Raffles. One should also sling a few peanut shells on the floor - it is tradition after all.

You can feel the shells under foot on the way to your table... It's no longer the original Longbar location (they moved everything upstairs in 1991) but it still serves one of the worlds most travelled for drink experiences. Created in 1915 by Hainanese-Chinese barman Ngiam Tong Boon some 35years after the Gin&Tonic era of the 1880s.
