Pink pig

These guys were having an increasingly challenging job holding down the pig as the winds were rising and gusting during the morning.

We'd walked into town and back again to cary out a few tasks and also to enjoy another cup of coffee at Pop's. Here a certain bank was trying to woo customers into saving money with them. There was face painting for the youngsters and refereshments for the disbelievers.

I believe the last time they promoted savings through the "pink piggy bank" those piggy banks went on to become collectors' items. That might well be a better investment for your money rather than putting it in their pitifully low interest savings accounts. Buy a job lot of pink pigs, hoard them and sell them slowly on ebay. Just a gimmick, trying to curry favour. No wonder that Queen Victoria under her canopy had turned away. She was not amused.

Spent the afternoon in an all together more pleasurable passtime - peeling onions for pickling. They're salting overnight and will be bottled tomorrow. I hope we'll have enough to last us a year- 12 large jars. Mmmm.

Went to see the floorboard lady again today to see if we could have the floorboards in her garden but she was out again. Perheps she's seen me coming?
