Great Uncle Jack.

Uncle Jack died a few weeks prior to the end of WWI. His body was never found and it was only a couple of years ago that we learnt where his name is inscribed on a memorial in France.

His parents commissioned this portrait of him from the artist Josh Fisher, a member of The Liverpool Group and a family friend. To help to get a true likeness, my grandmother, Jack's sister, sat for the artist.
