Washington Sunrise
There were high clouds when I got up this morning and hoped for a stunning sunrise. So I drove into the city again today and setup the camera at the base of the reflecting pool (the Lincoln Memorial was behind me).
There was a dark band of clouds on the eastern horizon (some of it is still visible here) and thought for sure that I this would be a wasted trip. I waited and waited and although the skies brightened, there was nothing to write home about. The sun finally poked it's head above the dark band of clouds and for a whopping fifteen seconds, the colors popped out.
