100 Years. We will remember.

Today is Remembrance Sunday and the annual parade and service at our church.

This year, however, is more poignant as it is 100 years since the outbreak of World War 1, 70 years since D Day and this year has seen the withdrawal of our troops from Afghanistan.

Our local school children planted 25 small crosses to represent just some of the 122 soldiers lost from our community during the first World War.

Wreaths were also laid by local dignitaries and uniformed groups and others from our community.

As always a very moving and thought provoking day.

We will remember.
