The wonderful waterfall

We watched the royal family lay their wreaths at the Cenotaph in London. They even got a clap the first time ever one has been heard at the Cenotaph as a sign of appreciation for carrying on despite the' security issues 'involved. I always hold my breath as the older generation step backwards after laying their wreaths the Queen had to manage two steps and she did nt look behind her once.
The day was soooo lovely again that we went down to the Fairy Glen to see the Autumn leaves and the top waterfall. For those of you who know the Fairy Glen this is usually quite a walk and can be very muddy so we did cheat and went down the footpath from the road to Cromarty.
The beech trees were looking splendid and the waterfall was flowing well. You can see the coin log in the picture laying into the water. Coins have been hammered , using a handy stone usually, to leave thanks to the fairies and hopefully bringing goo luck. A new log has been started with peoples initials carved into the wood. Moss and fungi have also made their home there and I should think numerous mini beasts.

We drove on to Cromarty and walked around the harbour , no jackets needed as the sun was warm. The sky has changed to it's cooler shade of blue and the boats shone in the sunlight. It was high tide so the harbour was full of water. Two cormorants sat on the wall drying their wings and occasionally popping back into the water for a fish.
Two seals were swimming further out, rock pipits flew past and a young gull shouted noisily hoping for some food. He's having a laugh, there's no way I'm sharing my pizza !

Beautiful sunset and the temperature is dropping, maybe I'll get my frosty blip this year :)
