Simple tribute

They shall grow not old,
As we who are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them,
Nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun,
And in the morning,
We will remember them.

These beautiful words will have been said across the world today.

There are increasingly elaborate depictions of the symbol of remembrance, the poppy. The Poppy Appeal is catering for those who wish to display these elaborate versions and there are some very beautiful creations.

I stick to the simplest form. It means I find the need to buy a few each year so they always look presentable. And I lose a few too.

It matters not what poppy we wear, or indeed how we wear it.

The important thing is that we remember the brave people who paid the final price to give us the freedom to have a choice.
