Keeping an eye on the young 'uns

I was greatly entertained this morning by a family of starling fledglings who were really testing their boundaries in the Kowhai tree. Up and down the branches they went, practising their new flying skills. They were too quick and hid too easily amongst the foliage for me to catch with the camera, but patient Dad, anxiously watching over the antics, was a different story. I think I could have set a hungry cat under him and he wouldn't have taken his eyes off his babies.
