Lanterns not too visible, nor the guy on horseback wearing a helmet with a red crest--I guess he's St. Martin?
I had never seen nor heard of this before, so it was a surprise to wander out early Sat. evening with the dog and stumble on a crowd singing softly in German with very young children carrying homemade lanterns. No forests here to wander through with lit lanterns, though the Village can be enough of a wilderness.
Saw the restored version of Hiroshima Mon Amour. It's still devastating. Though the shock of a casual affair and what might have been regarded as miscegenation has disappeared. Still, Emmanuelle Riva has the most expressive face and lord has she aged beautifully.
