A new park to visit

After church today, Bob and I went in search of a metropark we had never visited. A friend had told us about taking his grandchildren fishing at Hidden Lake, so we thought we would check it out. About 30 minutes from our home (Compared to two minutes for Chagrin River Park) we drive right past the entrance to Hidden Lake. Talk about hidden! There was a sign at the road leading into the park, but the sign was blank on our side of the road, so we flew right past it. Eventually we realized we had to turn around and try again, and discovered that the name of the park was printed on one side of the sign, but not the other. Hidden Lake is very appropriately named. Once we found it, we spent a very pleasant and peaceful hour walking the trail that circled the lake. The only disappointment was that all the trees around the lake were "winterized." That is to say they have already lost all their leaves, so the wonderful Autumn color is gone. Other than that, it is a great little lake for fishing (catch and release) and camping. This handsome turtle was a feature at the campsite. I posted a few more pictures on Flickr if you want to take a look.
