Edwardian shops

I spotted these up the hill from my apartment. They were built between 1908-1912 and they have been well preserved. Here are some facts.

This is a collection of sixteen magnificent Edwardian terraced shops with accommodation above and service yards at the rear that were constructed between 1908 and 1912, to designs by architects Alex Wiseman and T. W. May. Although the individual blocks of shops in a row possess subtle variations in design, they all combine to form a single terrace, homogeneous in scale and appearance. The buildings incorporate Neo-Baroque, Georgian and Italianate features in their design illustrating the eclectic nature of Edwardian architecture. A series of convex verandahs form a stepped effect along the street frontage and help give the impression of one continuous building.

I think they look rather splendid. Off to bed now having had another day in prison. Have a good day folks.
