I found in my mother's eye

Both my granddaughters dance but the eldest was performing and I watched as E (her mum, my lovely daughter-in-law) tamed K’s massive quantity of exceptionally curly hair into a small neat bun ... then apply her stage makeup.
I took this because I loved their silhouettes and their mutual concentration.
I’m always distressed when I see a 10 year old with that much make up on, but I have to say I don’t notice it when she is on stage in bright lights … so it obviously works.
It was a lovely day – I’m a very proud Nana.
