The train and bus are not the only ways to get to town. Door to door the bike is probably the quickest, and there are several different routes to take. It is possible to go all along the river, always with the wind behind one way and wind against the other, but my favourite route at the moment takes me through 3 parks and is almost exactly 5 miles to Lewis' and the Adelphi.
