Knockers......

......or 'l'heurtoir' as they say in French! We had quite an obsession with les heurtoirs in France one year at the time whilst we were trying to find one for this house. Many photos were taken but this actually came from a local blacksmith who we met at a heavy horse event.

They usually herald the arrival of visitors....and we had two today which was lovely.
