Cambusbarron Commemorates

An exhibition in the village hall commemorates the men of Cambusbarron who fought in the First World War both those who survived and those who didn't return. On display are memorabilia including medals , pages from diaries and even some personal possessions. There are detailed stories of the men, including the son of the Murrays of Polmaise who was the first resident to die. The exhibition is well presented and serves as an impressive reminder of how small communities were devastated by a war going on many miles from home.
