Mellow yellow

I noticed on our drive home yesterday that this autumn is very yellow. Even the beech trees are much duller than their usual bright orange. It has been very damp and we haven't had many crisp dry days to brighten up the leaves.
But it was dry and sunny when I stopped off at Bookham Common after I picked Coco up from the cattery. The car park was full and people were striding off with their dogs rummaging for enticing smells in the undergrowth. (The dogs were rummaging, not the people!) I stopped just long enough to get my blip.
