Amazone

I often pass this bronze statue of a woman on a horse near the Houtrust bridge.

As it's intriguing I wanted to know more, but didn't come up with to much info :-(

Its made in 1960 by sculpture Bram Roth who was born as Abraham Cornelis Roth in 1916 and passed away in 1995.

Beside being a sculptor he was also a painter and was a member of Pulchri. He also was a teacher at the Art Academy in Rotterdam where I also studied as youngster.

He was fond of women and horses, which seems pretty obvious looking at this approx two meter high bronze.
