March
4 November is Unity Day in Russia (День народного единства). Officially, the holiday commemorates the uprising in November 1612 which expelled the Poles from Moscow. The holiday was replaced by the day, 7 November, following the October Revolution in 1917 - a holiday which ended when the Soviet Union ended. Unity Day was revived in 2005 and nowadays also presents an opportunity for the political spectrum to express itself - as the blip shows, colorfully in some cases.
