Ghastly Good Taste
Short of a blip tonight I found a book on the shelves at my lodgings entitled "Ghastly Good Taste or a depressing story of the RISE AND FALL of English Architecture" by John Betjemen.
The title goes on... "together with a beautiful folding ILLUSTRATION Nine feet long specially drawn by Mr Peter Fleetwood-Hesketh"
Capitalisation by the author.
Well that was just too much temptation...
The cartoon (in the literal sense) illustration is of a London 'street' from 1800 to 1970's - impressive mostly by it's length than much artistic merit.

The day was punctuated by a silence at 11, with the bugler on the 2nd floor playing the Last Post; and a trip to Emmaus to find some non-pine bedside cabinets.
Came back with a bookcase, as you do.
