Bempton Cliffs

Well I decided to have a lot of me time today.

Set off really early to Bempton Cliffs. I really wanted to see a puffin or two, but was just looking forward to having a whole day of photography at somewhere new. I had pre booked my RSPB Cruise so had one eye on the time because I needed to make sure i didn't literally miss the boat.

What a fantastic day, I can thoroughly recommend it. The birds were quite a way off from the cliff paths, but there were some wonderful viewing platforms, and I managed to get a few reasonable shots.

I met some wonderful people, and one really grumpy photographer who was really angry, and I mean red faced angry because my very small camera bag slipped off my shoulder and nudged him. The bird wasn't going anywhere and he was able to get the shot he wanted. He was just a nasty person and even grumbled as I tried to apologise to him. I'm really pleased that missing a shot was all he had to worry about in life.

Anyway my evening cruise was wonderful, I managed to spot six new birds to add to my bird count.

Bempton Cliffs - not the best facilities in the world, but I highly recommend it, and I do believe they had a sign up stating that they were in for a refurb!

My pic for todays blip isn't the best of the batch, but it is the Puffin I was so longing to see. Apparently I was really lucky to see this as they nest in holes they have burrowed in the cliffs and rarely make an appearance at this time of year.
