Nature love

Veterans Day in the US and a day off school to celebrate the living who serve at home and abroad. For the UK and Commonwealth, Armistice Day or Remembrance Day, a day to jointly thank and celebrate the living and to mourn, thank and remember those who died fighting.
I miss the poppy which I wore every year in the UK. I have two in a box but it's not quite the same. It was horrifically glorious to see the poppy display photos from the Tower of London - amazing and beautiful way to mourn the horror and loss.
Thank you to all who served and were lost, and to all who serve to prevent future loss.
We spent the day at home fighting invisible monsters and not being able to deal with sacrifice but did take a nature walk and talk about the loss of petals and leaves - symbolic to me, and maybe next year my daughter will still love nature but also understand why she gets a day off school.
