Pied Stilt eggs

I stumbled across these two Pied Stilted eggs in a paddock. Mum flew off as soon as she knew I was getting closer. The nest is rather interesting - it looks like these birds use dried old grass, and I'm surprised at how loose the nest has been made.

It has been raining again tonight, and turned cold. We have the fire going, and it is very warm and cosy inside.
