Poppies up close.

I decided to go to the National Gallery, but first I took a side trip to the tower of London.

The place was swarming with people come to pay their respects and experience the sight. Most people were quiet and contemplative, talking in low voices of the people in their lives in the forces or the wonders of the exhibit. I am glad I went.

I spent the rest of the day in the National Gallery in Trafalgar Square looking at a seven hundred years of art, the vast majority European and either political or religious. I have to admit I spent most of my time looking at the impressionists and the more modern stuff. Spanish Aristocrats are not really my thing.
