All Finished & Proper

I and a friend restored the exterior of this house during the summer. I was passing by and saw the next-door neighbor's cat holding court from the porch railing, enjoying the fresh autumnal air. This gave me the feeling that the job was all complete, and that all of creation had given the nod to our work.

I don't know what that means, but it was my feeling. Perhaps this self-assured tabby is the last and loveliest ornament on the house, and I was lucky to see the jewel place herself on the crown like this.
