Portrait Gallery, Edinburgh
A quick trip to the Portrait Gallery whilst in Edinburgh today. It's a place I visit often offering, as it does, both shelter and free wifi. The exhibits are pretty good too of course.
This internal quad is one of the most stunningly beautiful places in Edinburgh; rich in colour and detail, with much history on show.
Upstairs there was an exhibition on The Great War, with excellent portraits of Winston Churchill and Ramsay MacDonald.
As I left I heard a teacher explain to a group of visiting kids that "no, they didn't have camera phones during The Great War". Needless to say, this made my day.
