Cow Pat

I had a lovely chat with my sis last night (no baby yet) and offloaded a few of my recent woes. She was lovely and really supportive.

However, my boiler and hot water stopped working so that was a blow as I had to have a chilly squaddie wash and dirty hair for work today. Brrrrrrrr. The good news is that the plumber came round at 5pm today and sorted the faulty switch and service for not too much money! Hurrah! Can't wait for a shower.

I also bit the bullet and ordered three different wallpapers for my three bedrooms last night. I've never, ever chosen wallpaper for a house before and I think I've been quite bold. I'm very excited about showing some of my personality in my house rather than sticking with the safe cream as before.

I had a reasonable half day at the office and even managed to get a hello out of MM and a brief 30 second conversation with him too and that was by no means guaranteed.

I headed out to B&Q just after 1pm and was decisive and bought paint for my sitting room, kitchen and dining room. I dashed home to leave the paint for L as he was keen to make progress and how could I argue with his keenness! Then I dashed back to the other side of the county to see the head shrink for the first time in several weeks. I made some notes just before and managed to make it a productive hour.

Then it was back home to inspect progress and whilst the colours are actually called Tweed Jacket and Lion Slumber (honestly!) I've renamed them baby poo and cow pat! Here's cow pat going on in the kitchen tonight. I'm loving the new colours. They are giving the rooms a new feel and shape and are very grown up. Maybe my foray into interior design last year is starting to pay off. I'm now checking out other colours for other rooms. Exciting!
