The Cromwell residence
The home of Oliver Cromwell and his family.
Cromwell rose to power during the English civil wars to become "Lord Protector of the Commonwealth" during England's brief period as a republic in the 17th century. The Cromwell family lived in Ely for some ten years from 1636 to 1646.
I went to Ely again today, with plans to get back into writing. However, my favourite tea house was closed for renovations. Shocking. Instead, I went to a tea room/café I hadn't been to before. I won't be going back to that one again.
