Shell
I was talking the other day about fractal geometry and I was finding it hard to describe, but today I realised I had an example sitting right in my bathroom. In simple terms a fractal is the same pattern repeated over and over again and stays the same no matter how close you zoom in on the object. If you look closely, you'll see this is the case on this lovely shell - the 'growth rings' get larger as the occupant grows, but the shape and pattern remain (virtually) unchanged.
