It would be so easy to rant and be negative.

My university department has cleverly taken the stance that fee paying students do not need any professional grounding to go out and find a career after they graduate with a doctorate.

So only the students who get their fees paid get teaching experience. I don't have a bursary, so I am not eligible for teaching hours to get any teaching experience (which I need to get a teaching job).

I have the best supervisor though, who is giving us, her students, extracurricular training. She doesn't get paid for it, but she is helping us out of the goodness of her heart.
