Brief Encounter
Today we decided to go on the East Lancs Railway to Rawtenstall from Bury we were looking forward to going on the steam train that puffs by the campsite on a regular basis, they alternate between diesel and steam so we made sure we went for the steam one, but after queuing up for our tickets the ticket clerk told us that it was a " special" Diesel only day" so we were a tad disappointed to say the least.
Plus it was a the wettest day ever, still we made the most of it and got to Rawtenstall which has the only Temperance Bar in the country still in use (mr Toad preferred the Real Ale Bar on the station)
We were so wet and cold we stopped off at the first cafe we found which was a nice cosy place, we had a warming bowl of cauliflower and parmesan cheese soup - very nice.
