Large pile of rocks or...

big business moving in to ruin the blueberry barrens? This isn't a great shot. I don't care. I have to tell you how upsetting it is to see beautiful blueberry barrens scraped clean of their gorgeous granite rocks to make way for the more 'efficient' method of harvesting blueberries with machines. These fields have been in many families for more than a century, most of them always harvested by the farmers themselves or migrant workers returning year after year. The blueberry business has become so successful in Down East Maine, many people are selling out to the large corporations offering top dollar for their land. I understand the ways of business and I understand the plight of the small farmers, but must they ruin these beautiful fields in the process of building their business? It's a real loss of beautiful landscape, in my opinion.
