Migrant in Moscow

Grey sky

It was a grey day throughout the day today. This is the Church of Saint Simeon Stylites, photographed late afternoon though it could as well have been at midday. Built between 1676-1679, the church survived the communist years, reportedly at one point being used to host an animal exhibit. The writer, Nikolai Gogol, who lived nearby, was a regular visitor.

It's brighter seen in LARGE.
