Restored
A busy but production and enjoyable day
Started off with a trip to the dental hygienist, to have my pearly whites restored. Always admire the chairs in the window of the furniture restoration place next door to the dentist - and love the fact that the chairs take pride of place, with minimalist window dressing needed.
Busy morning in the office followed by a trip to Grangemouth for a couple of productive meetings - despite sticking to the the speed limit the entire way back (I have very sadly started watching my mpg consumption as I drive) arrived back in Edinburgh way to early for my dinner date with friends, so stopped off at the Gyle for a bit of early Chrimbo shopping - which was good until I realised that M&S had the wrong size blouse on the hanger I grabbed so I will need to go back and exchange.
Hit mental rush hour traffic on the way past Murrayfield but still made it to the Outsider only 10 mins late - also miraculously found the ideal parking spot on Victoria Street, something I had thought would be impossible on a rainy, late-night-shopping night in the run up to Christmas.
Dinner was amazing - pigeon breasts which were definitely up to Masterchef Professional standards followed by melt-in-the-mouth beef cheeks - all the more so for the great company, conversation and general camaraderie.
Not a late one given Sam up at 3.45 am in the morning to head back over to Amsterdam - he will be gone for a week this time, so really gonna miss him, but can foresee some mega Glee watching sessions...
