Eastern Rosella

These birds have captured my attention the past few days. There is a pair of them that spend their time in a certain part of the botanical gardens. They are not your typical native NZ bird, so it's strange to see them in the wild. A Google search clarifies that they are in fact native Australian, but are now also apparently quite settled in some parts of NZ. Very pretty, though I wish I could get closer!
