Back to more normal stuff.
But far from everyday.
I haven't seen a heron in Dublin in about eight years.
And here was this one paddling in the Grand Canal.
He/she was very cooperative, I got loads of shots.
I'm going to waffle now.
I got a gift card for a camera shop as a birthday prezzie.
The weather has been diabolical, so I wasn't venturing out, but it was nice this morning after a fall of 47 mm of rain here in Dublin overnight.
The met office has launched a website, accuweather.com, which will tell you the weather to the minute on your street. I believe it is a worldwide system. You just type in your street name and it tells you things like 'it will rain in eight minutes'.
So I looked at it and it said 'no precipitation for 120 mins.'
"Why don't you use your bike?" suggested the Redhead.
That was a great idea.
I spent a great three hours cycling around the hidden areas of Dublin, taking lots of shots. In the meantime I exchanged my gift voucher for a variable ND filter, so that's another thing to play with. I might get some of those hairy water shots just to annoy Brynboru.
The heron was my first encounter. I took a circuitous route home and came across the same heron in a different part of the canal so she/he bookended my little trip.
I have more heron shots than you could stuff in a sock.
I just got to the the front door when the rain came down. Perfect timing.
Isn't technology amazing?
