I'm not a great teacher...

Well, the other day I attempted to teach char the piano (well organ if we're splitting hairs)
She didn't enjoy scales at all, and soon was begging to learn some tunes. I thought it'd go good, but it did prove a little more taxing than if we'd stuck at the scales.
I'm gonna try again tonight...
